Big Hit! (2008-01-12) I gave the '50s basket to my brother for Christmas and I wish you could have seen the look on his face when he opened the present! Sheer delight! What do you give the person who has everything?? This is it! The kids were even excited. They had not seen or heard of so many of the candies included in the box. Of course, my brother removed some of his favorites and put them in his own secret stash but there was plenty for everyone to have a free-for-all. It was a lot of fun for everyone!

50's decade box (2008-01-08) This gift set was incredible. The candy was all fresh and my dad LOVED it! He said it was the best gift I had ever given him. He spent hours going through the box and telling us stories of when he was a kid...it was really fun and I recommend this to everyone!!!

Not Satisfied! (2008-01-02) I ordered the 50's Gift Basket for my parents. I ordered it a couple of weeks before Christmas and the package did arrive. However, when I asked my Mom how she liked it, she told me that there were a few items missing. The packing slip had listed what all should be in there, and the following were NOT there: charms assorted squares,smoothie peanut butter cup, cherry mash, chocolate cigarettes, walnettos. I sent an email to Hometown Favorites on 12/17/07 telling them that these items were missing and requested they satisfy my order. As of today, 1/2/08 I have not heard back from them. Needless to say, I will NOT purchase anything further from their company...and would suggest you do the same!

Sentimental Gift (2007-12-26) Overall it is a neat box with some great candy that brought back many memories for my parents. Some of the pieces seemed a bit stale and hard and the moonpie was basically crushed, though we've only eaten a few pieces so far. You couldn't find this type of candy anywhere so it is a great concept to bring all of it back again in one box. My biggest complaint was the ground shipping which was over priced in my opinion. I'm not sure how long this company has been doing it but it appears they have some things to correct in order to succeed further. I noticed too that the candy was all in a jumbled mess. I'm not sure a woman would have organized the box in that same fashion. So please try to correct these issues and I will buy from you again. Thank you.
